Article from June 2014 D Magazine
Well, I certainly don’t want to say that we are surprised. But we are definitely honored and humbled to be named the Best Beer in Dallas by D Magazine in the June 2014 issue. With a four person panel of Certified Cicerones and local beer connoisseurs, our Sir William’s English Brown Ale ranks No. 1 out of 30 local North Texas beers that were tasted by the panel. The most exciting part about this honor is that it was not a popularity voting contest. It was a blind sampling and a concise judging of great beer. It’s worth noting that our Lakefire Rye Pale Ale ranks No. 12.
At Grapevine Craft Brewery, we are dedicated to putting out well crafted local beers. And we’re just getting started. After only 6 months on the job, our beers can now be found in over 375 locations across North and Central Texas and coming in June 2014, we are releasing two new brands. We will be releasing another year round offering, our 10 Gauge Belgian IPA, a careful balance between hop aroma and a crisp finishing Abbey style ale. Also in June, we are releasing the first beer in our new bottle conditioned Bonnie Blue series of beers, La Saison des Festivals, a wonderful saison boasting a rich grapefruit flavor derived solely from fermentation character and Mosaic hops. You’ll find this beer at local stores in 750mL champagne bottles.
We extend a heartfelt thank you to our fans and everyone that continues to support our new brewery. And of course, thanks to D Magazine for this great honor.
